Viva la sumptuous private villa for growing numbers of visitors to idyllic Sri Lanka
Sri Lanka is now an established must-visit tourist destination, with well over 2 million visitors last year enjoying the delights of our tropical paradise Indian Ocean island.
Most will have stayed at one of our many fabulous hotels, ranging from high-end beachside luxury to simple eco-lodges set amongst our pristine heritage landscapes.
But for some, it’s the sumptuous convenience of a private villa, as the South China Morning Post reports, “if you want to fully escape into a tropical paradise for some much needed rejuvenation and pampered seclusion”.
Comparing us with destinations such as Thailand and Bali, it notes that “there are few more culturally rich, overtly welcoming islands than that of Sri Lanka”.
“The south coast is a prime example of Sri Lankan indulgence with stretch after stretch of rugged coastline, which serves as the dramatic backdrop for luxury villas such as that of Villa Salina.
“From a lofty spot, guests obtain unobstructed 360-degree panoramas of the surrounding jungle through to the glistening ocean, so for any photography enthusiast, it is hard to imagine a better destination.”
