The delights of Sri Lanka’s epic signature cuisine on show at Chefs’ Guild of Lanka Culinary Art Food Expo

 

The best of Sri Lanka’s epic cuisine and culinary superstars, both local and international, has been on show at the Chefs’ Guild of Lanka Culinary Art Food Expo (CAFE).

As Mirror Business reports, “CAFE is the country’s signature event for the food industry that attracts thousands of visitors and will now be held annually”.

During the three-day expo, visitors watched head-to-head chef competitions with teams from the nation’s leading hotels complete for the honours.

 

The competitions pitted 500 chefs from the country’s best resorts, restaurants and hotels across the full gamut of culinary expertise.

Says Mirror Business: “It is the ultimate challenge where several culinary talents will flock to display their masterly skills, and seek accreditation and feedback for improvement.

To engage visitors, “a Public Family Master Cooking Live Competition will be held to enthrall young and old food lovers alike. Another introductory feature is the Live Cookery programme on butchery sponsored by the Australian Trade Commission”.

 

It concludes: “For the first time, in order to engage the visitors, a Public Family Master Cooking live Competition will be held to enthrall young and old food lovers alike.”

The CAFE website says that the expo covered food preparation, culinary and hospitality and “every aspect of food ‘From the Factory to the Table’”.

“Culinary Art Food Expo attracts exhibitors from all over the world while buyers representing various segments visit Culinary Art Food Expo to view and obtain the newest products and services available and to view the latest technology on offer.”
