Sri Lanka’s beautiful sea turtles top the agenda for animal-loving Brit blogger Helen

The somewhat bizarrely named Beach Don’t Kill My Vibe blog, written by chippy English northerner Helen, has five entertaining posts this month on the delights and vagaries of our paradise island.

For example: “Sri Lanka is such a beautiful country with so much to see and do. If seeing a sea turtle is on your agenda, like it was for me, this is the blog post you’ll be wanting to read!”

“Animal lovers will be in heaven once they hit Sri Lanka. With opportunities to go on safari to spot elephants and leopards, go on a boat trip to spot Blue Whales or just head to the beach.”

And: “Once I decided on Sri Lanka being the first official stop on my trip I really got it in my head I wanted to get a head start on my new no-stress life by learning to surf and taking up yoga.

“It didn’t take me long to stumble across the website for Soul & Surf and instantly got obsessed. 24 hours after deciding to go to Sri Lanka, I had booked my flights, found Soul & Surf.

“Soul & Surf is essentially heaven. Tucked away in the jungle is a beyond beautiful villa, once you arrive you literally have nothing to even think about! Your meals, snacks, water, yoga lessons, surf lessons and board hire are all included in the price.”

And last but not least: “It’s no secret I love me a bit of beach! And luckily Sri Lanka has loads. Here’s a quick rundown of Southern Sri Lanka’s best beach bits!

Weligama is famed for having the stilt fishermen – everything you read will tell you they’re all here. HOWEVER I didn’t see a single one and I was on that beach every day for a week! Interesting hey!”

And Mirissa: “A pretty beach, white sand lined with beach bars … perfect for topping up your tan and being super lazy as whichever sun loungers you are lying on, you can just turn around and get a menu from them.”
