Good news after our own hearts—Sri Lanka wins the ‘Best Destination Off The Beaten Track’ accolade at the Conde Nast Traveler Middle East Readers’ Choice Awards in Dubai.
Here at Pledge Holidays, getting off the beaten track on the byways and backroads is key to giving our visitors the holiday of a lifetime—unique experiences that create lasting memories.
So this latest award is right up our street, and gives us even greater impetus—not that we need it—to search out the hidden beaches, Hill Country hideaways and cultural experiences that mean so much to you.
As the Daily Mirror reports, “up to October 2016, Sri Lanka has received 93,640 tourist arrivals from the Middle Eastern region, where it generates a 5.1% growth compared with the same period last year”.
“Sri Lanka made an outstanding appearance as it outperformed two New Zealand and Vietnam to acquire the title of Best Destination Off The Beaten Track which is awarded based on the votes of the readers of the Conde Nast Traveler Middle East Magazine, that covers wider cross section of the tourism sector including the favorite travel experiences, from destinations and hotels to airlines and tour operators.
“Sri Lanka Tourism’s latest win for the tourism sector indicates that Sri Lanka is being widely popular among tourists regarding its vivid attractions, rich and ancient cultural heritage.”
