The million-dollar travel blog is the literal truth where inveterate Irish adventurer Johnny Ward and the world’s exotic destinations are concerned.
As CNN, the pre-eminent US Cable news network points out, “there can’t be many full-time bloggers in the world who employ wealth managers”.
“He’s one of a handful of travel bloggers in the world earning six-figure incomes each year through their blogging.
“That he’s been able to earn more than $1 million over the last three years through blogging puts him firmly in the “whaaaaa?” category of inspirational own-your-own-life stories.
“In a few weeks he’ll complete a decade-old quest to visit every country in the world, a mission he’s documenting on his onestep4ward blog.”
Sri Lanka is, of course, one of those countries, and 32-year-old Johnny writes that our paradise island “is a great way to escape the madness of India during your sub-continent backpacking trip, although it can still be pretty manic itself”.
He was much taken with Colombo, “a great place to walk around and with it playing host to the massive expanse of Viharamahadevi Park, Colombo’s largest green space, it offers genuine respite from the hawkers and noise!”.
Mt Lavinia “is a great introduction to Sri Lanka, so when you get here, chill for a couple of days, soak up the awesome atmosphere and then venture further afield.
“I’ve got a whole lot more sites from Sri Lanka to show you, so hold on and with so many package deals available, you never have to miss anything. There’s a lot more of Sri Lanka to come. Happy travels!”
