Lucky tourist couple bag walk-on parts in TV hit show Good Karma Hospital being filmed in Sri Lanka
The second series of the hit British TV series The Good Karma Hospital being filmed in Sri Lanka is proving to be a big tourist attraction.
And for one star-struck UK couple it meant coveted walk-on part as extras after meeting the show’s star Amanda Redman and the rest of the cast.
Amanda and Mark Pritchard were visiting Unawatuna, the west-coast beach resort where the series is being shot.
Says the Sunday Mirror UK: “When they arrived they were thrilled to be allowed to watch filming of the Sunday night drama about a rundown Indian hospital.
“Then they met actress Nimmi Harasgama, who plays nurse Mari Rodriguez, and she introduced them to the show’s star Amanda Redman.”
Said Amanda: “We couldn’t believe it. When I met her, I burst into tears. I was star-struck. She was fabulous, so welcoming, and it was almost like she was looking at us in awe because we were so emotional about meeting her.”
Amanda Redman told the Sunday Mirror: “When I met the Pritchards and Amanda got so emotional, I just thought she might want something of their visit captured on film, so I asked if they’d like to be in the show.
“Both of them said, ‘It’s a memory I’ll never forget,’ which was very sweet. After they came, coachloads of people started coming to the set’.”
The first episode of this second series will be broadcast on ITV on Sunday March 18.
