Adventure beckons in Sri Lanka for two veteran travellers on their first visit to our Paradise island
Lisa and Manju, two young travellers from Malaysia, arrived in Sri Lanka with Pledge Holidays and high expectations—and have not been disappointed!
“So far so pretty good”, said Lisa (pictured above left) over her first-morning delicious healthy breakfast at Pledge3 boutique hotel in Negombo.
“We chose Pledge Holidays because we really liked the look of your website, which is really clear and informative, and the blog, which tells us so much about Sri Lanka. We’re going to love it here!”
She also had some kind words for our tour executive Gothami Amarasena, who put together their 12-day itinerary, which includes a bit of everything from culture to wildlife to adventure.
The magnificent Lion Rock fortress at Sigiriya, the fabulous Buddhist cave temple at Dambulla, the UNESCO World Heritage Site at Polonnaruwa, white-water rafting, whale watching…
And of course, a safari in Minneriya National Park, home to herds of hundred of elephants, as well as our mighty leopard and not-so-cute and-cuddly sloth bear.
Manju is particularly looking forward to the hot-air ballooning and seeing our amazing biodiversity at Sinharaja Forest Reserve.
Lisa also loves wildlife, but in her case it is the whale-watching at Mirissa that she is particularly looking forward to.
Both are veteran travellers, having each visited over 25 countries, so they will be comparing notes and making comparisons—let’s hope we pass muster!
We’ll be staying in close contact with them throughout the tour, and they will keep us up to date on their Sri Lankan adventures with words and pictures reflecting their day-to-day encounters. Stay tuned!
